Geneva "Jean" Edwards, 80, of Columbia, graciously left this world on January 30, 2013.

Jean was born on Feb. 17, 1932, in Birmingham, Alabama, where she met and married Allen Jack Edwards on June 9, 1950. A person of many abilities, Jean was a faithful faculty wife, mother to all, the original multitasker, an excellent watercolorist, handyman and general purpose problem solver. She was non-judgmental in her approach to others, and was a model of fairness and generosity who dedicated her life to her family and those in need. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Grove (Robert) and Lynn Stevenson of Columbia, and Melanie Estes (Bud) of Warsaw, Missouri, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. There will be no service, as Jean requested; those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to embrace today without missing a beat. Donations may be made to the Loaves & Fishes soup kitchen (Wilkes Blvd United Methodist Church) or any group dedicated to helping those in need.
