Robert E. “Bob” Lewis, 79, of Columbia passed away on December 2, 2012.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Parker Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.

Bob was born in Boone County to Marie (Chick) Lewis and Earl Lewis. On September 15, 1951 he was married to Jewell Dean (Jones) Lewis and in that 61 years of union, six children were born, Sandy Ketchum and Robert “Thumper” (Earlene) Lewis all of Hallsville, Kenny (Victoria) Lewis, Gary (Rita) Lewis, Ronda Sparks and her fiancé, Mike Seversen and Michelle (Scott) Lewis-Sexton all of Columbia.

Bob owned a dump truck for a number of years and was a truck driver for other construction firms around Columbia. He retired from Knipp Construction in 1993. He is survived by his wife, six children, ten grandchildren, Robbie, Shelly, Jesse, Jenny, Eric, Tyler, Kasey, Sam, Nathan, Jonathan and Kenny; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Grant, Luke, Courtney, Clayton, Brodie and Denny. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law, Mike Ketchum.
