Bette Heidman Douglass, a lifelong Columbia resident died at home on the 24th of October 2012.

She was born Bette Jean Heidman to Ola Mae Speer Heidman and Fredrick Eugene Heidman on the 15th of February1918 in Columbia.

Bette graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 1940. She was married in 1941 to Thomas Mitchell Douglass who precede her in death.

She is survived by her children: Thomas M Douglass III, Bettina Lenoir Douglass, both of Columbia, and Sascha Douglass Greenberg of Katonah, NY also her six grandchildren and one great grand son.

Following a private burial on Sunday in the Columbia Cemetery, the family will receive friends that afternoon. Inquiries 573-355-7768
