Helen Pearl Cornell

Pearl Cornell, 101, of Columbia, passed away Saturday, August 25th, at the Bluffs.

Services will be held at 2:00p.m., Wednesday, August 29th at Parker Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 1:00p.m.to 2:00p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pearl was born Dec. 13, 1910 in Boone County to Arthur and Lorena Basnett. She married W.A.Dell Cornell on March 25, 1931. Pearl lived in Boone County 100 of her 101 years. She was a great homemaker and enjoyed gardening, growing and arranging flowers, cooking and baking. She always had home baked cookies for the grandkids and was famous for her home made rolls. She could be seen driving her yellow Jeep to the garden and mowing the yard with her John Deere. She is survived by her son James A.Cornell and wife Delores. Grandchildren, Larry and his wife Patty, Brenda, Don and his wife Karen. Great grandchildren, Tim and his wife Kasey, Patrick, Chris, Tyler and Aubrie. Two nephews and a niece. She was preceeded in death by her husband, parents, and infant son and brother Carl Basnett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Bethel Baptist Church, 201 East Old Plank Road, Columbia, MO 65203.
