Joseph “Sonny” Young, 84, of Columbia, Missouri passed away on August 20, 2012.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Parker Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the funeral home. Sonny was born June 27, 1928 in Georgetown, Guyana, South America to Joseph and Gladys Lowe Young and they preceded him in death. He was married to Unice Spencer Young and she survives.

He is also survived by six sons (wives), George (Roseanne), Colin (Monica) , Royter (Dianne) , Ian (Sharon) , Leyland (Patsy) and Gerald (Priya); three daughters, Olinda, Theresa (Kevin) and Norma (Ramesh); brother, Clyde; sisters, Audrey, Yvonne, Vilma, Thelma and Ceciley; 31 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Sonny was also preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
