Freta Dick Nickel, 90 passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Parkside Manor.

Services will be held at 11 am, Monday, June 4, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am Monday at the church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, MO.

Freta was born December 9, 1921 in Edgerton, MO to Ray and Minnie Liggett Dick. She married Walter R. Nickel on July 19, 1957 in Marshall, MO and he survives.

Freta graduated from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO, Central Baptist Seminary in Kansas City, KS and University of Missouri-Kansas City. She was a long-time teacher, she taught in one-room school houses, high schools and colleges in Missouri, Kansas and South Dakota. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Walter of Columbia; two daughters, Karol Nickel and Karen Nickel and husband John Blaylock of Minneapolis, MN and a sister, Martha Rae Duffer of Odessa, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be given to Parkside Manor or Calvary Baptist Church.
